Believe it or not, it’s pretty tough to do an actual photo session with your own child. Ask most photographers with kids and they will tell you theirs are the most difficult to shoot, or they don’t photograph them much at all, and let someone else have that task! 🙂 Nic and I decided to give it a go, about a week after Rachel was born. Those first few weeks with a newborn are very hard. Being a mom is by far the hardest thing I have ever done! Being a mom, not sleeping, and trying to organize and shoot while simultaneously trying to calm a crying baby… even tougher! However we had fun, and got some sweet shots of our newborn. Our goal was simply to capture this stage of her life so we can remember. As hard as those days were, I didn’t want to just wish them away and not have any images of our baby being that tiny!
